Untouchable Life

To give our teacher's update a context, this article discusses one of the realities of life for the oppressed in India. Daily conditions can be unthinkable. Pray for those considered untouchable in India, and for the hands and feet of God that will reach them! The Help Network teachers like P, are providing hope and opportunity where there may have been none before, through the love of Christ and the power of education. Please continue to pray for strength, courage and energy for them as they do this important work!

A Happy Update

We have received wonderful news from our teacher, Flora! All three schools we visited during our trip have eagerly requested continued English training and lessons. Flora will be working closely with the faculty of these schools, training them in the Help Network techniques and curriculum. While many of these teachers have some knowledge of English, the conversational approach is new and exciting for them... they want to know it well so that they can bring it to their classes! Flora has already begun workshops in two of the schools and will continue to visit them regularly. She says, "It is God's grace that 3 schools have opened for us!"

Please join us in praying that God will have His hand on Flora as she builds relationships with these teachers. We pray that they will come to recognize His love through her, because we know how contagious that incredible love is! Please also pray for the children that will be given the opportunity to learn English through their teachers and through Flora. May God use their teachers and their newly-acquired skills to open doors for them, and reveal Himself in their lives!

Incredible India

The final days of this trip have been spent mostly in awe of the rich cultural and spiritual texture of this amazing country, and finding God's fingerprints all over it. We reconnected with a good friend in one of the world's oldest and most venerated cities, and got to know India in new ways. Our teacher here is using our video curriculum in his community to equip orphans and young victims of the sex trade with skills that will open their futures. We met many of these kids, and cheered as they proudly demonstrated their newly-acquired English skills to greet us and introduce themselves! We also got the chance to visit a child care center on the outskirts of town, that our teacher has his eye on for his next outreach project. We praise God for the work that He is doing through his faithful people, even in the darkest corners of this world! We feel so blessed to be a part of His perfect plan!

We're happy to report that we've had an wonderful couple days visiting local schools, doing brief trainings with teachers, and demo lessons with children! We got a great response from everyone we visited, and most of them complained that our visits were too short! That is an excellent sign, as it likely means they will invite Help Network teachers back to bring English training into the school. God is opening doors all over! Pray for the teachers and students at these schools, specifically that English will be used to empower them in their communities and beyond.

We were doubly blessed these last two days, because we got to spend lots of quality time with our teacher and friend, Flora, and her family. This meant home cooked Indian meals, sharing stories, and playing with her two children. A total joy! 

Happy Sunday!

Spent a great day worshipping with M! We got to see a service in the local language which was amazing! We also enjoyed a home made Indian lunch. Yumm! 

We are all feeling good! Getting some extra rest before working tomorrow. We'll be visiting and training at 3 schools tomorrow. 

Made it!

We made it safe and sound! Fairly uneventful travel. All is well! More updates to come later. 

Ready, set, GO!

Today's the day! As we prepare to board the plane, we thank God for the incredible support we have from you all... We have been blown away by how God has used our communities as a united body to do His work! We can't wait to report on the ways He is moving in India... Please pray that we will see, hear, and obey Him in all ways as we navigate this trip. Check our Facebook and blog for updates and pictures along the way!

We leave Thurs and return in 10 days. Please pray for travel mercies, the children we serve and our Indian teachers. 

December Update

Blessings to you all and Merry Christmas! Below is an update from one of our Help Network teachers. Your prayer and financial support has an effect 12,000 miles away!  Thank you for your prayers for our teacher and her family! The exams she references are the national education exams each child takes to move up to the next grade.

Looking forward for your visit in the month of March.

This month there were less of children for the classes due to exams.
 
Its great fun to teach the older ones as they ask us number of questions as to how to pronounce certain words. sometimes they also get new words asking us the meaning of those. They show a lot of interest. 

I thank God for all the strength that He has given us to continue. Please do pray for our health. we are down with fever for a week now.
