Over the past few months, we’ve been grieving with our friends in India. Being thousands of miles apart means very little while we remember our brother J and celebrate his impact for Christ. Our conversations have been tearful but joyful as they share the latest news—the Holy Spirit is moving powerfully all over India, in unexpected ways! Even as daily realities become darker, we see evidence that He is raising up His Church to shine all the brighter. For specifics, see the flip side! Here’s how you can pray in light of our latest updates.
Pray with us:
For God’s merciful intervention at all levels of India’s national and state governments
That God will continue to raise people like F. into positions of influence at every level and continue to empower their work through His Spirit
For physical and spiritual protection over our friends, especially P., his wife S., and their children, since they are working amid intense oppression
For God’s continued blessing over the conviction and vision He has given all our partners, to preach, disciple, and establish church communities
For health and strength for those enduring monsoon flooding
For unity in the church in all India, while many pressures are creating division and strain
For God’s will to be done as we carry on J’s vision of English education as a vehicle for transformation and ultimately the Gospel message in India, through His Church
So, the work continues, as God wills it, and as J always intended it to. The Help Network supports our partners constantly through prayer, and monthly through donations, allowing them to act beyond their daily subsistence for the Kingdom—we are humbled to play a small role in how God provides.
Updates for October 2025
In the south
F. is one of our dearest and most courageous partners over the last 18 years—the Help Network would simply not exist without F.’s obedience to her calling, and her deep faith. The same week that J was called home, F. was unexpectedly offered a new state-level job, where she is responsible for overseeing curricula for all schools in her region. We are thrilled by how God has prepared her, filled her with wisdom, skill, passion, and conviction for building His kingdom, and then placed her in positions of great influence, such as this new one.
Pastor M. and his wife are feeling well after some seasons of illness and continue to passionately preach the gospel in their church on the outskirts of their city. God has given M. a vision of growth and movement, inspiring him to seek out a new location and new building for an expansion of their church community. Along with the vision, God is faithfully supplying funds, connections, and direction that make it more real day by day.
in the north
Persecution continues to intensify in the north. According to our faithful and Spirit-led friend Pastor P., police and government forces are violently disrupting any gathering that may qualify as “conversion” activities—not just worship gatherings, but even two friends just meeting at a café, or a circle of families gathering in a home for a meal. They do not need proof, only suspicion, to physically assault and imprison people with a life sentence. P. says the Church is scattered, fearful, and divided.
Monsoon rains are bringing dangerous flooding, forcing communities to either flee or hunker down.
And yet, every time we connect with P., we hear from him that pastors and believers are being equipped and called in creative ways: they are taking up training in basic medical care to serve their communities, travelling to remote areas to provide services, and thereby the love of Christ. One Help Network teacher named K. is still faithfully working with students, even if it’s just one at a time, to practice spoken English and stay connected. In the deepest, darkest human seasons, the Gospel still moves in the hearts of believers and transcends the obstacles.
